Love Kills is an independent feature film shot in Los Angeles over 30 days in 2023.   Like other independent films, production had to utilize imagination, and resourcefulness.

What makes Love Kills unique is that it was made without a script, but structured around a three act idea and then scenes were written along the way to fill in the gaps for the characters, relationships and plot.  This gave the director a chance to do a "Sean Baker style" film that is created around the actors and their own personalities.  For example, Gaia, who plays Lia, is a dancer and a jewelry designer, and that was utilized in the film.  The same was done for Brianna, played by Lucy, who is a talented musician in real life.

The film began casting in early January, 2023, and held first auditions January 19.   Milo was cast during a call back on January 23, but Lia and Brianna required seeing additional actors before they finally were cast on January 31 for Brianna (Lucy Diamante) and Lia (Gaia Brooks) on February 12, which allowed production to begin on February 16, 2023, starting in Julian, CA

Like all movies, this film was not without challenges, but all those challenges are far outweighed by the end result and the overwhelming amount of fun everyone had during the shoot.

For example, some scenes had to be reshot due to a number of reasons, but they were well worth it, as the reshoots superseded the prior scenes.

Other times, actors would receive their scene an hour before shooting, but as true professionals they met their obligations and performed remarkably under such circumstances and delivered stellar performances.
